Fantastic for Alpine Style Climbing5
I have been on many expeditions around the world....over 30 different countries. I never bought in to spending $20 on a pair of underwear. I lived in the bush for 117 days and trekked through 12 countries in subsaharan Africa with normal underwear on. WOW! What a mistake. After the first 2 weeks I ended up wearing the same pair of short swim trunks and cut the net out. They offered no support but did maximize breathability. I recently went to Russia to climb the north face of Mt. Elbrus (much more demanding than anticipated). I decided to buy these ExOfficio Sport Briefs. Unbelievable!!!!!!!! Not only did they offer great support, they allowed for unprecedented breathability and were not at all constricting. I had free range of motion and never really thought about wearing them. When navigating 70 degree boulder fields and crevasse filled glaciers the last thing you want to be thinking about is your underwear. I give these 2 big thumbs up. I wore the same pair the entire time...never took them off. They were as fresh as the mountain air at the end of 11 days. Great buy! Worth every Penny!

A little too accommodating5
You may want to be a little careful sizing these. Since they are very generous in the seat, they may not stretch across the gluteal cleft; instead they might ride up on you, leaving the unsightly hash mark! I usually take a large with normal briefs; however, because I possess these scrumptously round, protruding buttocks, my locomotion is a bit more sweeping than normal, causing the larger sizes to ride up. So if you're well-endowed in the rear as well as the front as I am, you may consider going one or even two sizes smaller ( these stretch very well ), for that extra bit of pelvic massage that, let's face it, we all desire.
